Two Sides of a Border: South Africa & Mozambique

Thanks to Singita’s generosity, 10% of the purchase price of this trip will be donated to the Garingani Game Reserve Anti-Poaching project.

At Singita KNP, beyond the exceptional standard of hospitality for which Singita is well known, guests will engage in game drives which will balance an excellent wildlife experience – with elephant being regular sightings – with informed insights into the conservation of the game reserve. In addition, the opportunity exists to visit the Singita School of Cooking – and interact with the students. This School is an on-site community development programme, operational for the past 8 years.

At Balule Lodge, guests will have a truly bespoke experience with staff overseeing their visit to this remote, wild and beautiful part of Mozambique, and sharing with them the extensive efforts being undertaken to protect the land and its bio-diversity, and to conserve it for future generations. Key to this is the anti-poaching programme – aimed at protecting elephant, rhino and other targeted animals. The team will accompany the guests on an excursion to understand the challenges and the progress being made. The Balule Lodge experience is only open to guests associated with the SAFE campaign.

Your first two nights will be spent at the luxurious Singita Lebombo lodge situated in the Kruger National Park, South Africa, perched along the rugged cliff face above the N’wanetsi River. Singita Kruger National Park’s mission is to create and maintain a balance between conservation, community development and ecotourism and your time with us will enable you to experience this.

Following your time at Singita Lebombo you will be transferred by road to Balule lodge in Garingani Game Reserve, Mozambique, where you will spend two nights. Balule Lodge is not yet a commercial camp but its design and décor are fully aligned to the Singita standard, as are its staff. The game drives will have their own personality, being led by our resident conservationist.

To end off your trip, you will spend one night at Raptors Lodge in Hoedspruit, Mpumalanga, South Africa. The accommodation is a self-catering at its best and the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Days 1-2: Singita Lebombo Lodge, Singita Kruger National Park, South Africa

Make your way to the Federal Air Lounge at Johannesburg (OR Tambo) where you will catch a Federal Air flight to Singita Kruger National Park. On arrival at the bush airstrip at Satara, you will be met by your guide and will have an hour transfer through the Kruger National Park to Singita Lebombo Lodge. This transfer provides the opportunity to view wildlife and engage with your Guide in this regard, as well as about the Park and Singita. You will spend two nights at Singita Lebombo Lodge which is located on the far eastern reaches of the Kruger National Park, on South Africa’s border with Mozambique – with the Garingani Game Reserve on the other side! Situated on 33,000 acres, this exclusive concession is one of the most incredible territories in the park and is home to exceptional wildlife and an exquisite variety of flora and fauna, making up four different eco-zones. Game drives will be enjoyed as will the remote beauty and luxury of Singita Lebombo.
